Flyover Country

In my neck of the woods there are many people who still believe in God, country, and being neighborly.

I drove home from a trip 2 hours north. As I neared my exist, I saw a tragedy that no one should see, let alone experience. A north-bound vehicle veered off the road and struck a south-bound pickup truck. The driver of the pickup truck did not survive. I pulled off the road, called 911, and as I was calling at least a half-dozen men jumped out of their trucks (mostly) and started to see what help they could render. After my call, I did the same thing. By the time I ran up to the scene (about 50 feet away), with the pickup truck on fire, another half-dozen men (mostly) arrived; we all searched for the driver of the truck who was ejected, while two or three men were giving attention to a fire blazing through the pickup truck; they worked and expelled all the fire-extinguisher’s content. Finally, the first of the emergency vehicles (a firetruck) arrived and tended to the disaster scene properly.

In flyover country, the values of God, country, lending a helping hand – all are abundantly available. There was no hesitation on the part of those who wanted to help. We all did what needed to be done and did what we could do.

I wonder if in D.C., Baltimore, San Francisco, or New York City would see the same. Sure we would! I am not so sure, however, if we would see it as readily as we do in flyover country. My doubts are associated with what how some in media cover the news in a very uneven-handed way (be sure to check out the Media Research Center). The news reports in these cities are related to violence, the lack of respect and regard for laws and civil authorities, and how overly biased news reporters are shaping the narrative. It has become a joke in many circles, “It’s Trump’s fault!”

A perfect solution to everything!

The reason for such callous disregard for life and property is because many have little to no regard for the Lord and His way. There is NO better way for a people, community, and nation to live than the Lord’s way! The Lord’s way, however, is not made for a nation, especially a secular nation built on a constitutional republic, as ours is. It may be secular, but its morals and laws are built upon a foundation that its source somewhere. Let us ask the question then, from where did man get his thinking about how things ought to be done? There are only two sources available from which to choose; they are: 1) God, or 2) not God. No third alternative.

In flyover country, we have our own confusion, but at least in these parts, many people recognize that life without God, there is chaos. Just look at our metropolitan cities. RT

Remember back in the 90's when Joe Biden was questioning Clarence Thomas about the Natural Law? JB knew what side he was on...the side that seeks to supplant the law written on our hearts" with Man's Law. Marxists hate the loyalty and devotion of the religious. It is in direct opposition to the loyalty the communist state demands.
